Goodreads: Book Reviews App Reviews

My favorite app a define must have for readers.

When I was trying to figure out what to read next, stumbled across this. Helped me narrow down books I might like based on my fav books.

The app/service is great! Its packed with awesome features and has an active community. I do not like the UserInterface though. It looks outdated and feels clunky (same goes for their website). For me, that ruins the experience and overshadows the apps features. Still, this is a great app, the overall best in its category, I recommend!

I love keeping track of books Ive read and a TBR list I can go to for my next read. I like seeing what my friends are reading & rating.

Ive used goodreads for years at this point and I love it. It allows me to keep my reading list in order, and for me to mark down any books Im thinking of. My only wish is that it listed what type of book genre the book you were on was. The books of course are sorted into sections, but for example, I read Red Rising and assumed it was a YA because thats where I found it, but in actuality it was a New Adult/Fantasy novel. Other than I love this app so useful!

Goodreads as a whole is fantastic, and Ive not found anything poorly laid out in their app. Win all around :)

Ive been using Goodreads for about 7-ish years now and somehow the servers still crash. Love the site but the servers crashing, words being cut out of posts, and still not being able to do many of the same function as the site is slowly dropping its rating. I love the site dearly and I see it grow so much since I started using it but try to perfect what you do before you move onto something new.

The new profile is much better along with the few other changes, but the app. locks up.

I love setting my yearly book reading challenge! Only downside is that they dont count re-reads. Hopefully theyll fix this. That, and Ive personally not found their recommendations to be good for me. Recommend this app. Main feed needs a facelift.

As I read a lot I use the app almost daily to track my reading and find new books. Ive never had an issue once!

I dont mind an ad here and there once in a while. I know that apps need to make money somehow. But when your ads are intrusive thats a different story. Every single time I refresh the page on Goodreads, the trailer for Inferno pops up and automatically starts playing in full screen. Lets just say, you lost a user in me.

The newest update puts up a full-screen auto play ad every time I try to do anything, tending the app both annoying and useless to me.

I cant enter my password. I get about halfway through (its on the long side) and the app hard locks and then dumps me back to the home screen.

The app does everything you need it too but the new update has really annoying adds. Probably theyll be bringing out a premium version without adds soon that youll have to pay for. Hopefully they just get rid of the adds. Otherwise the app is good.

I mistakenly rated a book that I havent yet read. This shouldnt be allowed. And now I cant figure out how to remove my rating. Not very user friendly. But I do love many aspects of this app.

Great app!! Love that I can keep track of books Ive read and books I want to read all in one place. Also love being able to read reviews on books Im interested in.

I read more since I started tracking my books on Good reads. Not only to you get to see lots of book reviews and recommendations, but you can create a reading challenge for yourself. There is something about seeing pictures of all the books you have read on a screen, that is really satisfying!i like that you can change the book cover to the particular edition you read so it jogs your memory better. I also like to see what friends & family are reading so we can swap. I think its great.

I love that I can scan books in the bookstore so I will remember books Ive seen that Im interested in. I would like to see a true crime genre added. Also if you could check off which you own or wish you owned. I scan in the books in my physical to-read pile and add the books that are on my Kindle. If Im in a store, and thinking to buy Im not sure if its on my virtual want-to-read shelf because I have it and havent read it yet or if I dont have it at all in any format.

It is great to be able to keep track of what I read and my thoughts about what I read. The barcode scanner is an awesome way to add new books. I wish I could keep track of books that I have re-read though. Also, not being able to edit the date started until I have marked the book as read means that the date started is often incorrect, but fixable. Great app.
